Council to caucus tonight

N.J. Superior Court finds for eminent domain action

In a recent decision, the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey has held that New Jersey law does not require a condemning authority to negotiate with a mortgagee, which has obtained a final judgment of foreclosure on the subject property, prior to the initiation of an eminent domain action. Borough of Merchantville v. LB-RPR REO Holdings, LLC, No. A-3745-11T4 (App. Div., 2013).

Society looks to honor homeowners

The Merchantville Historical Society is searching for candidates to be recipients of an award certificate for the interior or exterior appearance of their homes. It’s our way to reach out to let you know that your efforts have not gone unnoticed or unappreciated. Merchantvile gets funding for firefighting

Fire departments in Merchantville and Audubon will receive approximately $486,000 in federal funding to hire firefighters and purchase equipment. The grants announced on Wednesday, 1/23, will be used to add three firefighters in Merchantville and 33 self-contained breathing apparatuses in Audubon, according to U.S. Rep. Rob Andrews, D-N.J. Merchantville is receiving the bulk of the grant at $300,000.
