Mary Jane Mallon

Mary Jane Mallon, longtime Merchantville resident, passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 83. Born in Philadelphia, Mary Jane's life was a testament to the power of warmth and friendliness that she extended to everyone she met. She was the cherished wife of the late James Mallon. Her legacy continues through her four devoted children, Kathleen Polimeni, Theresa Hinchman (Richard), James V. Mallon (Jessica), and Rosemary Napoli

Stephen R. Selverian, 86

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of long-time community member Steve Selverian, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on October 22, 2025. Steve is survived by his loving wife, Sandra, seven children, Richard (Melissa), Jeffrey, Mark (Laura), Gregory (Debra), Arthur (Tania), Kurk (Rita and, Lucinda (Thomas) Stamboulian. He also leaves twenty-three grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Stephanie Dehnhard

Stephanie Lyn Dehnhard (nee Papa) of Mantua Township, beloved wife of Matthew, passed peacefully at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer on October 10, 2025. She was the loving daughter of Alice and Anthony Papa and sister of Michele Papa and Alexandra Papa. Stephanie grew up in Merchantville sharing a lifetime of happy memories. Sandy Thornburgh, 81

On August 13, 2025, former Merchantville resident, Sanders "Sandy" Thornburgh, Sr. peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father, surrounded in his home by those he loved. His departure was marked not by sorrow alone, but by gratitude for a life so deeply and fully lived. He was blessed with 58 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Mary Elizabeth (Barlow), and together raised twelve children: Sanders, Julie, Adam, Thomas, Patrick, Daniel, Robert, Laura, Emily, Katie, Jeremy, and Molly - many of those years in our town.

Austin Gilliss

On August 10th, Austin Gilliss, age 28, died in an automobile accident. Austin is the son of Adam and Peggy and brother to Michael, Adam and Steven. He was born and raised in town,  attended Merchantville School and Pennsauken High School and was a Health and Physical Education major at Camden County College and Rowan University. A Celebration of life gathering for Austin will be held next Friday August 22nd from 6:00-10:00 p.m.

Jane H. Slattery (nee Morgan) of Merchantville, passed away peacefully at her home on May 31, 2025 at 86 years. Beloved wife for 66 years to Samuel T. Slattery; Devoted mother of Cyndi Brandt (Bernie), Sandra "Mindy" Collins (Mike), Susan Clements (Dave) and David Slattery; Cherished grandmother of Samantha (Steve), Tory (Stephen), Will (Ariana), John (Michele), Tim (Rachel), Madison (Russ), Matthew, Peter, Evalina, Andrew and Maeve; Caring great grandmother of Myla, Norah, Rylee, Aviva and Ellie.

Valentine Night Party

Shop Where Your Heart Is! Art Reception Planned

Eilanarts Center invites you to join them on January 30th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. for the art reception of their current show "The Shape of Color".
