Virginia Edgar, 93

On Jan. 16, 2020, Virginia, nee Oldershaw, age 93 years, beloved wife of the late Robert Edgar of Moorestown, NJ. Devoted mother of Jane Homon ( Peter Jr), Leslie Polansky ( John), and Judith Smith, and the late Stephen Smith. Loving grandmother of five grandchildren, and great grandmother of ten great grandchildren. Mrs. Edgar was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Collingswood, NJ. She taught Sunday School, and delivered altar flowers to “shut ins”to brighten their day. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and  was an avid seamstress. Most importantly, she faithfully, and consistently prayed for her family and friends, both for their needs , and blessings as they arose. Visitation will be held on Saturday Jan. 25, 2020 from 9-10:00AM at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Merchantville. Full obituary.

Cheryl Disch, 57

Cheryl A. Disch, age 57, of Merchantville NJ passed away suddenly at home on January 19, 2020. She was a Senior Manager-Marketing Information Systems with Duane Morris, LLP in Philadelphia, PA. Cheryl was also a graduate of the University of Delaware with a degree in Communications. She was past co-chair of ILTA, an avid Buffalo Bills fan, Disney devotee and dog lover. She is survived by her parents Robert and Marge (nee Zuk) Disch, one sister Karen Disch and many loving cousins, aunts and uncles. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday from 2:00 PM-4:00 p.m. and 7:00 PM-9:00 p.m. in the Alloway Funeral Home, 315 E. Maple Avenue Merchantville, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Welfare Association 509 Centennial Blvd. Voorhees, NJ 08043.

Stephanie Beth Heller

On Monday; January 20, 2020, at age 61, Stephanie Beth Heller (Cooper) of Merchantville, NJ, previously of Delray Beach, FL passed peacefully after a long battle with lung cancer. She was the beloved mother of Ross Heller (Erica) and Abby Segal (Lee), wife of Mitchell Heller, sister of Linda Kerner (Steven) and Steven Shear, and daughter of Debbie Cooper. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her father Jerald Cooper, her mother Rochelle Cooper and her sister Terri Cooper. Stephanie was a dedicated mother to her two children as well as the many students she nurtured as a teacher in the Philadelphia City School District. She spent 10 years teaching full time in a city that she loved. Full obituary.

Former Mayor Passes

Ricardo "Rick" Taylor, Pennsauken's former mayor, longtime public servant, educator and tireless advocate for charitable works in the Diocese of Camden, died after a long illness on Friday, January 10th, at age 73. Ricardo Vincent Taylor Jr. affectionately known as "Rick" was born May 1, 1946, in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Ricardo Vincent Taylor Sr. and Nettie E. Taylor. He was educated at Holy Spirit School in Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania and graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania and The University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Rick earned his Masters of Arts in education administration from Glassboro State College (Rowan University). Rick leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his wife of 50 years Bernice, son Scott (Donyelle), daughter Holly, three grandchildren Alexandra, Jeremy, and Amelia. Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 4-8 PM and Friday, January 17, 2020 from 9-10 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Art Reception Planned

Eilanarts Center invites you to join them on January 30th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. for the art reception of their current show "The Shape of Color".
