Dear Merchantville Business Owner:
Town Council representative, Steve Volkert, has held several informal meetings with local businesses and the suggestion has been made that we consider the formation of a Merchantville Business and Professional Association. We want to make certain that all prospective members have input into the purpose of the organization and the goals that we will strive to accomplish so that we can create a "Mission Statement." This is the first step in setting up an association, and is the single most important thing to do.
We want to be sure that the Association's stated purposes and goals reflect the thoughts of its members, so there are several issues that require your input:
1) Please identify any areas of particular concern (for example, signs, parking, promotion, diversity, etc.).
2) Please give your thoughts on who might be a member. For example, should we include only those with an identifiable office or storefront in Merchantville? What about those that advertise in Merchantville (plumbers, electricians) but have no physical presence here? What about people who have no identifiable office or storefront
(3) If an association is formed would you be interested in joining?
Please email your responses to Dan Kurtzman
We will be meeting on Thursday evening June 14th at 7:30PM at Borough Hall to discuss ideas that have been sent to Dan. Additionally, we will be talking about the Borough sign ordinance and asking for your input for any changes that you would like to see made to the ordinance.
If you have any questions, please call me at (856) 630-6980 (cell) or Pete Burgess (856) 630-6985 (cell) from McFarlan's Market.
Thank you
Janet Stevens
