On February 18, 2014. Age 82. Of Merchantville. (nee Conley). Predeceased by her husbands Joseph J. Fallon, Sr. and Clarence Walker. Loving mother of James Fallon (Beth) and Joseph J. Fallon, Jr. (Mary Ann). Cherished grandmother of Taryn Cucinotta (Mark), Corey Richmann (Eric), Andrew Fallon, Sara Fallon (Kevin Louis) and Brett Fallon. Cherished great grandmother of Cameron, Ella, Aiden, Liam, Joey and Riley. Dear sister of the late Albert Conley. Also survived by her devoted niece, Joyce Henry.

Karen Salmon Klarman, 62, teacher

Karen Salmon Klarman, 62, a public schoolteacher in Merchantville and then in Pennsauken from 1992 to 2010, died of lung cancer on Sunday, Jan. 19, at her home in Cherry Hill. Born in New York City, she graduated from Freeport (L.I.) High School in 1969, earned a bachelor's in sociology at Molloy College in Rockville Centre, N.Y., in 1973, and later a master's in the art of teaching from Marygrove College in Detroit.

Randolph R. Resor

On November 1, 2013, age 61, of Merchantville, NJ. He was the beloved husband of Carol (nee Wahl) and father of Robert and Joy Resor. He is also survived by three sisters: Hope Bruens, Holly Johnson, and Roberta Dillon. Randy was a policy advisor for the Office of the Undersecretary for Transportation Policy, US Department of Transportation in Washington, DC. Prior to that he was Vice President and a consultant for Zeta Tech Associates in Cherry Hill. He was a published author and well known speaker. He loved railroading.

Melinda Kurkian Gaffney, MS society director

Melinda Kurkian Gaffney, 71, of Pennsauken, who retired in the late 1990s as director of patient services for the Greater Delaware Valley chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, died of heart failure Sunday, Oct. 13, at Virtua Voorhees hospital. Mrs. Gaffney had a 25-year career with the chapter, her son, Christopher, said. Born in Merchantville, she earned a bachelor's degree in English literature at Lycoming College in 1964

Same-sex couples eager for N.J. high-court marriage ruling

Nina Scarpa, 63, a retired teacher from Merchantville, said she went to her municipal office last week to get a marriage-license application for herself and her longtime partner, Denise Menzel, 60, a nurse. She said she was told, however, that she could not yet get one, by directive of the state. Scarpa said she and Menzel want to wed "as soon as possible. Sister Mary De Angelis, former principal in Merchantville, dies

Sister Mary De Angelis, 92, former teacher and principal at St. Peter School in Merchantville, died Sept. 22 at St. Joseph Hall, Villa Walsh, Morristown, N J. From 1975-78, Sister Mary taught eighth grade at St. Peter School. In 1980, she became principal at the school, serving in that position until 1988. Born in Baltimore, Sister Mary entered the Religious Teachers Filippini on July 3, 1932.

Eilanarts Center invites you to join them on January 30th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. for the art reception of their current show "The Shape of Color".
